Eucalyptus Leaf Vessel

Made in 2008 with formed eucalyptus leaves stitched together.
Monday’s drawings.
Start of the week and here’s two of the better drawings form the past week- a spade/utensil drawing and a key drawing- part of a continuing exploration of objects, form and composition which I’m feeding into my making. Alongside this I’m continuing with collecting objects, experimenting with materials and investigating construction techniques. Hopefully a few more objects made this week- some which will be more sculptural- stepping beyond ties to silver. Since drawings are becoming a regular thing a may start a new page jus for them and keep my materials and other musings along with any news on this cover page.

Keys..
While working on Things That Fall In Between I started considering other domestic objects linked to the idea of a home and started drawing keys, following on from a few pieces I made last year when I was in Quebec. I think these are very interesting forms and will form the basis of new work, after all utensils are defined as objects with a function…
Currently I am working on some new pieces for a couple of exhibitions – so I’ll try and keep this blog regularly updated- but no promises! Might be like today- wait for ages for one blog post and two come along at once!

Things That Fall In between final.
Well the exhibition came down today so I thought I’d finally post some pictures of my work in it! Here are a couple of pictures of the pieces in situ and showing a few of the drawings I exhibited as part of the supporting work. [All the artists displayed supporting materials- drawings/notebooks/samples- in the downstairs gallery with all the pieces installed throughout the rest of the building. I have to say it has given me the confidence to try some more large works and to get back into my drawing again [more of those soon].
