“Ten Project”

I entered into an exhibition with the Contemporary British Silversmiths a while back- the title was “Ten”. So i took a piece of 1mm silver sheet which was 10cm by 10cm, cut it up into 10 equally sized pieces and milled them into 10 thin strips of silver. I formed these into loops and then used different materials and techniques to close the circles. The silver acted as a “ground” against which the various properties of the materials are highlighted. It was a little silver-centric – but the silver was free and it was a silversmithing exhibition- so I had to sort of behave…

Heres a few pictures- I particularly love the punk -rock one with the old nappy pin and the slash of red in the silk ribbon one.
